According to reports, the Jinhai Road Bridge project starts from the Hongwan Interchange of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Connecting Line in the north and ends at the Airport West Interchange of the Zhuhai Airport Expressway, with a total length of 26.3 kilometers. The project is implemented in two phases. The first phase, now completed, is 17.136 kilometers long with six lanes in each direction and a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The cross-sea section of the bridge is 10.33 kilometers long, making it the first sea-crossing bridge with a combined road and rail layer in China.

　　On the same day, the second phase of the Zhuhai-Zhuhai Airport Intercity Railway was also opened to traffic. The Zhuhai-Zhuhai Airport Intercity Railway is an extension of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway, starting from Zhuhai Railway Station of the intercity railway and passing through the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and the Modaomen Waterway at the mouth of the Pearl River before reaching Zhuhai Airport. The entire line is 39.24 kilometers long with 10 passenger stations, and the design speed is 100 kilometers per hour. The construction and opening of the railway are divided into two phases.

　　Officials from the Zhuhai Municipal Transportation Bureau stated that the opening of the Jinhai Bridge will significantly shorten the travel time from the main urban area and the cooperation zone of Zhuhai to the western urban area and Zhuhai Jinwan Airport. With the completion of projects such as the first phase of the Jinhai Bridge and the second phase of the Zhuhai-Zhuhai Airport Intercity Railway, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has been integrated into the national expressway and railway network, realizing rapid connectivity with Zhuhai Airport. This facilitates convenient travel and not only promotes coordination and industrial linkage with Zhuhai Airport, Zhuhai Port, and the western part of Guangdong Province but also expands the space for industrial development.
